SCB13 10kV 1000kVA Epoxy Resin Cast Copper Winding Dry Transforme is a new upgrading generation product. Its no-load loss reduces by 5% compared with model scb12, and 20% lower than that of scb11, showing significant energy-saving effect. Meanwhile, it is safe, fire-retardant, pollution-free, maintenance free and easy installation. With good moisture-proof performance, it can restart without pre-drying after shutdown. This model shows low loss, low partial discharge and low noise. Under forced air cooling, it can operate at 120% of rated overload. Low loss: The no-load loss of the product is 20%+ lower than that of scb11 product, with good energy-saving effect, economic operation and free for maintenance.

 

Low noise: The noise of this product is 10-15 dB lower than the "6-220 kV transformer sound level" of the current professional standard JB / T 10088-1999.

 

Low partial discharge: Adopt advanced mixing and vacuum membrane degassing technology to evenly mix the resin and remove bubbles in the mixture. This kind of raw material has dense solidification structure and can resist natural gas, explosion and environmental pollution.All high and low Voltage coils are injected under vacuum pressure. The local discharge electrode of this product is low and can be controlled below 5pc.

 

Safety materials: Glass fiber and other insulating materials have automatic stop characteristics, and resin will not produce toxic and harmful gas at high temperature,and will not produce arc when in short circuite.

 

High mechanical strength: Filling resin reduces the difference of injection expansion coefficient, small curing shrinkage, small internal stress and high hardness of solidified body. The epoxy resin coating on the inner and outer surfaces of high and low voltage coils has the same structure as steel reinforced concrete. Winding Design
High Voltage Winding: Utilizes copper strip (foil) winding, vacuum-cast with epoxy resin and cured to form a high-strength fiberglass structure. This design enhances the winding's mechanical strength and improves its resistance to sudden short circuits. Simultaneously, fiberglass mesh reinforces the inner and outer surfaces of the coil, further optimizing heat dissipation.

Low Voltage Winding: Also employs a foil structure, resolving the axial helix angle issue in traditional wire winding methods, resulting in a more balanced ampere-turn distribution. TD anode epoxy resin pre-impregnated fabric is used between winding layers, forming a robust structure after overall curing. Axial cooling channels are incorporated to enhance heat dissipation.

 

Core and Insulation
Core Material: High-permeability, high-quality grain-oriented cold-rolled silicon steel sheets are selected. A fully skewed terminal structure is used, with the core column bound using F-grade non-woven adhesive tape. The core surface is coated with an epoxy resin encapsulation layer. This design significantly reduces no-load loss, no-load current, and core noise.

Insulation Class: Reaches F or H class, allowing for safe long-term operation at temperatures of 155℃ or 180℃, exhibiting excellent temperature resistance.

 

Protection and Cooling
Protection Class: Offers various protective enclosure options including IP00, IP20, and IP23, with materials including cold-rolled steel or stainless steel to meet diverse environmental requirements.

Cooling Method: Supports natural cooling (AN) or forced air cooling (AF). Under forced air cooling, rated capacity can be increased by 40%-50%, allowing long-term operation at 140% rated load. The cooling fan adopts a cross-flow top-blowing design, featuring low noise, high air pressure, and an aesthetically pleasing appearance.

 

Installation Environment Requirements

 

Altitude: The installation altitude should not exceed 2000 meters. For environments above this altitude, a temperature rise correction factor of 0.92 should be used, with the allowable winding temperature rise increasing by 0.4℃ for every 100 meters increase in altitude.

 

Temperature: The ambient temperature range is -25℃ to 40℃. If the temperature exceeds this range, special design modifications are required.

 

Humidity: The daily average relative humidity should not exceed 95%, and the monthly average relative humidity should not exceed 90%. For coastal areas, an IP4X salt spray resistant enclosure should be selected.

 

Ventilation: The transformer room must be well-ventilated, with a temperature difference between the inlet and outlet air vents of less than 10℃. For transformers with enclosures, the temperature difference should be less than 15℃. The required ventilation volume is approximately 3-4 cubic meters per minute per kilowatt loss.

 

Clearance: The transformer should be installed at least 800 mm away from walls and other obstructions, with a minimum clearance of 300 mm between adjacent transformers.

 

Maintenance
 

Pre-operation checks

Before putting the transformer into operation, check for loose fasteners, ensure correct electrical connections, verify reliable grounding, and confirm that the temperature controller and cooling fan are functioning properly.

Daily checks

Regularly check the transformer for abnormal sounds, vibrations, or odors. Inspect the winding surfaces for overheating, discoloration, or damage. Ensure the ventilation system is unobstructed and the fans are operating normally.

Dust removal

Clean the transformer regularly to remove accumulated dust, especially from the ventilation ducts. Use a vacuum cleaner or compressed air (2-5 bar) to clean the ducts. Excessive dust can impair heat dissipation and degrade insulation performance.

Maintenance cycle

For transformers installed in clean environments, an annual inspection is sufficient. For transformers installed in dusty or chemically contaminated environments, inspections should be performed every 3-6 months. A major overhaul is recommended every 5 years, including measuring insulation resistance, performing DC resistance tests, and checking for winding deformation.
