GGD Type Low-Voltage Fixed Complete Switchgear (GGD cabinet) is specially designed for power users such as power plants, substations, industrial and mining enterprises, and high-rise buildings in cities. It is suitable for distribution systems with an AC frequency of 50Hz, a system operating voltage of 380V, and a rated operating current of up to 3150A. Fixed mounted switchgear is mainly used for power conversion, distribution, and control.

Gangheng Electric's GGD series is a fixed-type AC low voltage main distribution panel rated at 400V / 0.4kV, 50Hz, 3-phase. The range covers rated currents from 600A to 3150A across three models, designed for power distribution and motor control in industrial plants, substations, commercial buildings, and utility infrastructure.

 

All cabinets are manufactured to GB7251 and JB/T5877. IEC 61439, ANSI/IEEE, and BS configurations are available for export projects.

Model Selection: 1000A vs 2500A

The right model depends on two parameters: your maximum load current and the available fault level at the installation point.

GGD1

is the standard choice for a 1000 amp 400 volt 3 phase distribution panel in secondary distribution rooms, light industrial facilities, and commercial buildings where the upstream fault level does not exceed 15kA.

GGD2

is the right fit when you need a 1000 amp 400 volt 3 phase main panel with higher fault tolerance - typically where the cabinet sits closer to the transformer, or where the supply authority specifies a 30kA fault level.

GGD3

covers applications requiring a 2500 amp 400 volt 3 phase main panel or a 2500 amp 400 volt 3 phase cabinet - power plants, large substations, steel mills, petrochemical complexes, and mining surface substations where fault currents reach 50kA.

If your load current sits between 1000A and 1500A, GGD2 is the appropriate selection even if fault level alone might suggest GGD1, because the busbar and breaker ratings are matched to the higher continuous current demand.

 

 

 

Enclosure & Installation

 

Standard cabinet dimensions: 1000mm (W) × 600mm (D) × 2200mm (H). Bottom cable entry via cable trench. Rear clearance ≥ 800mm required. IP30 standard; IP20–IP40 available on request.

Q: What is the difference between GGD1, GGD2, and GGD3?

The three models differ in rated current and short-circuit withstand capacity. Select GGD1 for up to 1000A at 15kA fault level, GGD2 for up to 1600A at 30kA, and GGD3 for up to 3150A at 50kA. Match both parameters - not just current - to your site conditions.

Q: Can Gangheng supply a 2500 amp 400 volt 3 phase main panel to IEC or ANSI standards?

Yes. Standard production follows GB7251, but IEC 61439, ANSI/IEEE, and BS configurations are available for export orders upon request.

Q: What IP rating does the low voltage switch panel carry?

IP30 standard. IP20–IP40 configurations are available depending on ventilation requirements. Specify at time of order.
